Desert Vibes

Written by , Posted in Fashion

Hello everyone,

Over the past three weeks Los Angeles has been coudy and quite chilly for the most part so I thought Palm Springs would be the perfect get away to chase a little summertime sunshine. The desert is all about straw hats, relaxed vibes and distressed denim.

My Loft Tour

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle

Hello everyone,

As most of you know I am Moldovan/Russian so inviting someone into your home is like saying “Hey I really like you, welcome into my life”. Today I’m inviting you into my home and hope this can help you get to know a little bit more about me and how I like to do things.

I moved into my new loft downtown LA almost a year ago and now I can finally proudly say that it’s completely finished. My vision for decorating and furnishing was to create a clean vibrant space where I can section the open floorplan into a work and living area. I implented neon lights and geometric details throughought the loft keeping the color palette to metallics and royal blue to complement the rough concrete floors.

For the living room area the predominant theme is scatered geometric shapes and metalics creating an industrial oasis. I’m particularly fond of my little hanging terrarium mixed in with wire cubes that I attached to the celining with black chains and a metallic tube. I somehow managed to accomlish that without killing myself or dropping glass into my face- YAY! The glass balls are filled with green moss that stays green for up to 5 months. Maybe I’ll replace it with some fun jade jewels next time; possibilities are endless.

I live in a very old building so getting my kitchen renovated was a huge plus. I just love the abundance of hearty home cooked meals I can produce in it *sarcasm*. I really do wish I had more time to grocery shop, I love cooking at home!

I spent so much time at Home Depot trying to find the perfect dark navy and what seemed like perfect in the store turned out to be a very bright and vibrant royal blue. I was too lazy to repaint it so I just let it be. Sometimes you just can’t have it all *sigh*. That corner doesn’t get much sunlight which makes it perfect for Sunday morning hybernation. I’ve had the worst of luck with buying beds, they always seem to break bend and be the wrong size. This one I didn’t screw the bed frame properly which resulted in it bending and breaking. In turn, I had to remove the frame and just nail the headboard into the wall. So far hasn’t killed me in my sleep so that’s fantastic!

Now I present to you the area of my loft where I spend countless hours a day- the office. My vision was to create a simple clean space utilizing lots of glass and minimal metallics. I love my inspirational prints which I got matted and framed at Michaels. Yes it cost a small fortune if you must ask, but I’m super proud of how it turned out! I like to have my desk facing the window so I don’t get glare on my computer and also spy on people while I work :p

Coffee Break With Racquel

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hello everyone,

Today’s blog post is a little collaboraiton we shot with my dear friend Racquel who I met at EDCLV last summer. Between the craziness of no phone reception and massive crowds I somehow managed to spot her backstage as we’ve been chatting to meetup on twitter for a while. I love that feeling when you meet a new friend and you just know that you’re going to hit it off. We thought why not to get together and shoot something for the blog while sipping on delicious coffee and exploring the streets of Hollywood.

I’ve been LIVING in this leather jacket and wanted to keep my outfit simple by wearing a long distressed minimal tee and add a pop of color with a cross-body bag.

Coachella:: Bohemian Hues

Written by , Posted in Fashion

Hello everyone,

Festival season is not only my favorite “holiday season” of the year but also a time to experiment with new fashion styles and push my personal boundaries when it comes creating looks. It’s no secret that Coachella is known for its Bohemian free spirited vibes, which is kind of the opposite of what you see on Evelina’s Fashion Cafe. I thought that I needed to get out of usual comfort zone of clean city vibes and dive into my non-existing bohemian pool of imagination and see what I can dig.

The biggest trick if you’re in a rot and completely don’t know what to wear is to find one piece that inspires your entire outfit. When I saw this skirt I immideately saw a vision of how I can create something that would make me feel like a bohemian goddess. This skirt is EVERYTHING. From the hand beaded details to the flowing train in the back- walking through Coachella felt like I was walking down the isle at my own aztec-bohemian wedding. I paired it with a fitted crop that brought the orange hues of the skirt and accentuated my figure. I topped it off with a black straw hat and some suede booties and Voila!

Thank you so much for reading!

Building Wells For the People

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle, Travel

Hey guys!

Today’s blog post is a little different. Just wanted to check in and say a quick hello and also let you know about this cool venture that I’m going to be taking part in this month. I often wondered what could be something cool that I can do to utilize my voice online that can make a real difference. Me along a few of my best friends are taking a trip to Haiti to film a video documenting the difference in villages that have clean water and those that do not. Along with that I am personally contributing to building a well in Haiti and I thought would be awesome to create a campaign for people to get involved as well! How cool if we can build a well and call it the Unicorn well!:) It’s crazy to me that up to this day we still live in a world with 748 million of people with no access to clean water which is a dirrect cause for disease, famine, education crisis to name a few.

You can watch my video and also find out how to get involved directly on my Generosity page.

P.S. I am not affiliated or sponsored in any way by the organization, this is something I’ve always wanted to do:)

Living Downtown

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hey guys,

Today I wanted to give you a little glimpse into my life. As some of you know, a few months back I made the decission to move downtown Los Angeles and in all honesty it has been quite the experience. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know my obession with big cities and old architecture so moving here was a no brainer. To most people in LA downtown is like the plague they want to avoid at all costs, but to me it’s still an undiscovered gem that’s going to be huge in a few years. Since I moved here I see new restaurants and unique street style shops opening up every week. Best part about living here, is having a ton of my friends live in the same building as me. Sophia came over one day and she loved it so much that she moved into my complex a week later. It’s just such an amazing feeling waking up and taking the elevator to your best friend’s place wearing pajamas. On our free time we love exploring downtown and finding new restaurants or just taking photos of the architecture. If you’re in LA or you come visit you HAVE to check out the Ace Hotel, Standard and Perch- 3 of my favorite spots with stunning rooftop views.

This outfit is a bit out of my comfort zone as you won’t see me rocking a maxi dress very often. I love pairing it with some thick heel booties, a spanish hat which I thrifted and of course a strappy crop top to avoid any weird bra straps. Comment below where you are reading from and what do you love about the city/neighborhood you live in?

New York:: Fluffy Parka & Holographic Hues

Written by , Posted in Fashion

Hey everyone,

I was out in New York for the weekend working on a project during the Golden Globes and even though it was absoultely freezing I still felt the beautiful energy the city has to offer. How can you not love the colorful taxis, fluffy coats and rushing New Yorkers multitasking through the streets of Manhattan.
My good friend Sophia let me borrow this huge fluffy jacket she got in Korea and I couldnh’t be more grateful. That stuff KEPT ME WARM. I paired it with a holographic print sweatheart and of course my most-loved pairing: peaking collared shirt.

Visiting Paris it makes so much sense why people there fall in love, get lost on the streets and get inspired to create.

P.S. I am deeply saddened by the events that occured in Paris a couple of days ago. Sending all my love to you beautiful French unicorns!

Cobalt Trench & Denim Overload

Written by , Posted in Fashion

Hello everyone,

First things first happy New Year to you beautiful people. A new year for me means a a new opportunity . I always take it as an oportunity to write down goals/resolutions and begin doing things a little bit better. One of the biggest things for me this year is to blog more. Most of you don’t know this, but I actually really enjoy writing, and even though I love Youtube- blooging with a cup of cofee sitting on my desk just brings me peace. If I write a blog post, then I feel like my day just gained a new meaning. Besides that I’ve been really motivated to work out every day. The easiest thing for me to maintain a good workout schedule, is to actually make a tailored workout schedule for the month ahead and stick it on my fridge. So far so good, Coachella body here we come! ^_^ What are some of your resolutions for 2015?

This winter break I went to the outlets in Palm Springs and to my amazement they had a Valentino and an Alexander McQueen store. I frantically started trying on shoes running around the store racing 30 other shoppers with a similar incendiary excitement. Luckily for me I was able to snag these McQueen suede wedges. I love the elegant platform silhoutte with with the metal toe caps. I feel like I found the perfect comfy going out shoes!

Thank you so much for reading!

Lord & Taylor NYC Meetup

Written by , Posted in Fashion

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to create a special blog post to thank each and every one of you that came to my Lord & Taylor meet n greet last week. I was so humbled and honored that you decided to spend your Wednesday evening with me in NYC. Your love and support over the past 4+ years, and especially over the past few months, means so much to me and without you there by my side every day, I would not be able to do what I do.
14-11-19__MG_0102

The evening started out with some prep and pampering with the Lord & Taylor make up and hair stylists! They helped me get #partypretty in anticipation of your arrival. I picked out my dress earlier in the day after roaming the entire 5th avenue store. I decided on this BCBGMaxAzria dress because of the simple, classy, yet chic look the shimmer of the dress radiated. As soon as I saw it from across the store, I ran up to it and knew it was a dress match made in heaven (unicorns – you know what I am walking about!)
14-11-19__MG_0008

One of my favorite stations of the evening had to of been the NARS station. I loved using the products for my #partypretty video (check it out here if you haven’t seen it yet! It’s a great go to look for the holiday and even the new year!

Although the beauty stations were so much fun (and I hope you learned a cool new thing or two!), my absolute favorite part of the evening was meeting you beautiful unicorns. Being on the cover of the beauty book is such an honor, but the real honor is meeting you!
14-11-19__MG_0068

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for showing your support in person and online! Your comments and positive feedback are always welcomed and so thoughtful. If you guys try the #partypretty look or the look I’m creating that goes live on my channel on 12/2 for the holidays, please Tweet me selfies! I’d love to see your faces! I love you, my unicorns! Please also make sure to check out the holiday beauty book here http://34.gs/nci8 and make sure to have a safe and fun thanksgiving!

xoxo,
Evelina
