Living Downtown

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hey guys,

Today I wanted to give you a little glimpse into my life. As some of you know, a few months back I made the decission to move downtown Los Angeles and in all honesty it has been quite the experience. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know my obession with big cities and old architecture so moving here was a no brainer. To most people in LA downtown is like the plague they want to avoid at all costs, but to me it’s still an undiscovered gem that’s going to be huge in a few years. Since I moved here I see new restaurants and unique street style shops opening up every week. Best part about living here, is having a ton of my friends live in the same building as me. Sophia came over one day and she loved it so much that she moved into my complex a week later. It’s just such an amazing feeling waking up and taking the elevator to your best friend’s place wearing pajamas. On our free time we love exploring downtown and finding new restaurants or just taking photos of the architecture. If you’re in LA or you come visit you HAVE to check out the Ace Hotel, Standard and Perch- 3 of my favorite spots with stunning rooftop views.

This outfit is a bit out of my comfort zone as you won’t see me rocking a maxi dress very often. I love pairing it with some thick heel booties, a spanish hat which I thrifted and of course a strappy crop top to avoid any weird bra straps. Comment below where you are reading from and what do you love about the city/neighborhood you live in?

I hope everyone is enjoying their first official days of summer. Whoohoo! On most days I dress comfy with a touch of elegance. For this look I combined a flouncy pleated skirt and a mirrored tropical print sweatshirt. The fringe backpack is the pop of color that makes the look that much more fun. I also scored these adorable subtle cameo print sneakers at a Nike sale- I’m obsessed! Yay for effortless days!

I was reading some cheesy quotes on Pinterest the other day and came across this quote by Chanel: “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.” I originally had a jacket, a hat and a chambray shirt tied around my waist with this outfit. I took Coco quite literally and took all the extra layers off and discovered that this was the “golden means” I was missing out on when I was trying so hard to make the look more elaborate or “interesting” . Dress, sneakers and a body chain. It’s just as simple as that sometimes.

Amsterdam:: Furry Coat & Busy Prints

Written by , Posted in Fashion

Hello everyone,

988C6711

Finally getting to edit these Amsterdam photos! I’m so excited to tell you all about my trip. It’s like sitting down with a friend you haven’t seen in a while and you have so much to share! Experiencing the city was surreal, even with it being grey and cold- it still had a beautiful mysterious charm to it. Cobble stone, neon store displays, flower markets, river canals and of course a multitude of bikes everywhere- are just a few of the elements that make Amsterdam so enchanting.

This look is a bit experimental for me, as I don’t normally wear “swaggy” hats like these, but I thought it created a nice contrast between the button up and textured coat. I like to add unexpected pieces to the mix and somehow make them work. It’s kind of like mixing a weird ingredient to your dish and it just ads a special spice to the flavor.

Huge thanks to www.fashionchick.com/ for making this incredible trip happen for us. More posts to come, I’m just getting warmed up here!

There are days where I feel just a little extra fierce. I wanted to create a tough and elegant look that seems like it has been borrowed from a man’s closet. While that’s not entirely true, if I could wear button ups every day for the rest of my life, I would. There is just something so empowering butting it up to the lats button:) I almost always want to do the half tuck, it creates an intentional asymmetrical look.

Today I have a wonderful giveaway for you. I know how much I love my Koret Tudor clutch (also featured HERE), so I teamed up with Koret to give away two clutches for my readers. The piece is incredibly versatile and can be worn both on glam and every day occasions plus did I mention the quality is absolutely exceptional? Each entry is not mandatory, but the more points you score the more chances to win! Good luck <3

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Outfit Details: Blouse: Zara, Jeans: Zara, Shoes: Steve Madden, Clutch: Koret New York, Watch: Michael Kors.

Long time no post. SO happy to finally get out of the holiday funk and get back into posting outfits and videos. This look is a perfect combo for the California weather right now, not warm enough to wear a t-shirt, but you can easily sport sandals. I really enjoy pairing graphic sweaters and tees with everything this season. I’m particularly a huge fan of typography- it’s so chic! I also can’t get enough of this pastel fuzzy jacket, it’s so cuddly and creates a beautiful cozy texture to any look.

Do you ever feel like wearing what you’re already wearing at home because it just feels so cozy and comfortable? This is exactly what I did with this look except I dressed it up with a button up for that casual yet put-together effect. I like the heaviness of the cable knit sweater dress combined with the lightweight crisp button-up. Mixing different elements like fabric weights and textures is the recipe for beautiful layering.

I wanted to thank you for the incredible support on the contest post, you guys nearly brought me to tears. I wanted to officially announce that I won the Fashionchick contest and will be attending Amsterdam Fashion Week next month. Even though you might be thinking that I’ve been doing a lot of cool stuff lately, this still means A LOT to me. I don’t take opportunities like these for granted and of course will be doing a meet-up in Amsterdam. I’ll let you know all the details as soon as I know more myself. Again, thank you for being there- you rock!

What will you wear to Amsterdam Fashion Week?

Written by , Posted in Fashion

Hello everyone,

I don’t think I ever shared with you the emotion I felt inside a few months back when I got the opportunity to attend NYFW.  My first fashion show felt surreal. As I got a bare glimpse of the luxurious flowing gowns from behind the lady with broad shoulders, I couldn’t believe my eyes that I was there in the middle of a real fashion show that was strangely muted by the flickering cameras sounding like angry crickets. That was the moment that made all those sleepless nights editing videos, sewing jewels and designing jewelry worth it. I felt like I was part of something beautiful, even though I could barely see what was going on. It was so special to me.

I was invited to participate in a competition to win a trip to Amsterdam Fashion Week, to which of course I said I would do my best to make a contribution. This look is something I would wear to the event, expect I would probably add some tights and layers to make sure I don’t freeze. I combined the flouncy houndstooth skirt with a relaxed silk cami and topped it off with my favorite structured leather jacket. The gloves are a touch of jeweled femininity that bring the vision of the look to completion.

Seeing your dreams turn into reality is magical and incredibly rewarding. I’ve always said that if my dreams don’t scare me they’re not big enough. I would love to one day attend European Fashion weeks like Amsterdam Fashion Week and just sit down with my camera and take pictures of all the beautiful street style.
Thank you Fashionchick for this wonderful opportunity. Be sure to check out Fashionchick to get a peek of all the latest and greatest in the fashion industry.

A Classic Combo

It’s finally sweater weather here in Orange County, so I’ve been enjoying layering a little bit more. I’ve always heard the saying “Life gets better with a leather jacket”, but no one told me how much better life gets with a nicely tailored trench coat. I’ve been practically been sleeping in this thing for the last week. Since my style isn’t exactly classic I opted for a leather sleeve option that adds a more relaxed feel to the traditional trench. I’m really loving the combo between red and leopard- it just always works. The boots are also a new addition to my closet which create a nice calf silhouette due to the mixing mediums of the construction.

Thank you so much for reading! P.S. Congratulations to Joelle the Phillip Lim for Target handbag winner. Thank you so much for everyone who entered, there will be plenty more giveaways in the future so don’t be sad:)

Paneled Jacket & Punch of Sparkle

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. Just wanted to stop by and add little sparkle into your day. This look is an assortment of sparkly goodies and metallic textures. I am and will always be a strong believer in the classic leather jacket, but this paneled beauty with structured tailoring is my new favorite. It’s still quite warm here in Southern California, so I can’t treat you to too many warm outfits yet, but hopefully the sweater weather is almost here!
