If you’re in the market for a large comfy bag for your every day necessities, this project is perfect for you. Grab some fresh watermelon juice and let’s get workin’!

As promised I will do my best to start listing all the materials you need for my DIY projects. For this project you will need (You can always see if you have any of these items at home):
Suede: 1 Yard/1 M
Curb Link Chain: 10ft/ 3 M. (Link Size Approximatively 10x15mm)
Revolving Hole Punch
Embroidery Floss: 2-3 skeins
Flat Nose Pliers
The bag measurements are very simple. I drew out a quick sewing pattern with all the dimensions. Don’t mind my architectural tick marks, that’s the only way I know how to do it since that’s what I went to school for:)  Click HERE to view the pattern.

How much did it cost to make your diy version of the Stella McCartney Falabella compared to the genuine version pricing at $1,190?

But I’ll definitely search for a good deal at my local fabric market: it’s a lovely bag and not that difficult to make! I expecially love the colour you chose, great job!

Cant wait to make this. Just one question is that faux or real suede? Thank you.

    • Evelina

      It’s faux.

  • Joana D’arc da Silveira

è muito bonita, mais tem que se ter cuidado que tudo que Stella desenha é protegido por direitos autrorais!

Hi! I felt in love with this bag and wanted to make my own. I bought suede, revolving hole punch. Although I didn’t buy curb link chain I wanted to start this DIY. It showed up that revolving hole punch doesn’t work on my too thin suede… 🙁

Do you have any advice what can I do instead?

  • Adrienne

I was wondering what color suede you used for your bag and the brand of the chains you bought. I’ve been to two Joann Fabrics, and I haven’t see a blue suede so vibrant in either! I also was wondering what brand of chains you bought because I haven’t seen the same chains at either Joann Fabrics either. I loved this DIY! Keep up the good work. 🙂

  • Dorothea

Hey! I really like your idea! Did you use faux suede or real suede? 😀

    • Evelina

Thank you. I used faux <3

  • Marion

YEEEEAAH! My dream was to have this bag but it was too much expensive for me. But, NOW, thanks to you, I can have it in a lot of different colors! And…nobody really need to know that I made it :p

  • M. Lowe

Which chain link length do you think would look best with the bag:(it’s weird question, but I really want to know)
    9mmx7mm or 12mmx17mm ?

  • Savannah

hey evelina, I love this DIY! I’m thinking of making it for my best friends birthday, and she loves bright colours like the colour of the bag you made!

what colour is it? I can’t find one without tones of grey in them..

  • Jane

Great to have made your own bag, but why not create something original to make rather than a direct copy?
I am not a huge fan of the original anyway but I still don’t get the idea of making someone else’s bag. It’s ok not to want or buy over priced designer bags but making a clone makes no sense at all………………

  • Ella

Great that you delete comments telling you not to copy other peoples designs……Guess that says it all

    Tacky copy by the way.

  • Sara

Hi evelina, in the video you said that you made the bag double, does that mean you have to use 2 yard of suede then? <3

  • Lisa

    Great idea! thanks a lot!
For the pattern, weird but essential question, what is the unite? Is it centimeters? 🙂
