Lord & Taylor Beauty Book Cover & NYC Meetup

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle

Hi everyone!

A few months back I went to NYC for a secret project that I’m excited to be able to finally announce! The renowned store Lord & Taylor, extended an invitation to me to be on the cover of their Holiday 2014 Beauty Book!

And, today, the book is officially launching (check it out Here) in conjunction with a beauty “get the look” tutorial I created and that is live on my channel in the #partypretty thematic, which I’m in love with and think will be so useful to you all this holiday season for all the festivities you are planning to attend. It’s a very classic, elegant, but still intriguing look that I hope you enjoy wearing. I’ve also listed all the products, the core product being my go-to NARS I used in the video later in this post.

I have another special announcement for all my east coast subscribers - I’m doing a meet up in NYC on 11/19/14 at Lord & Taylor! You can RSVP and get more details HERE. There will be a bunch of fun events planned for the evening at different beauty stations in the store. I’d love to see your beautiful Unicorn faces there, but please make sure to RSVP so the store can be ready for your amazing presence!

Roller Derby & Pastel Highlights by Garnier

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle, Travel

Hello everyone,

A few weeks back I had the oportunity to work on probably one of the coolest project I’ve a chance to do since I started blogging. Garnier invited me to try Roller Derby with a professional team in Brooklyn and try out their new Color Styler Washout Color. You guys know how I feel about my unicorn hair, so I was more than excited to try out something that woudln’t be damaging to my hair and still achieve vibrant results. I loved how the hair turned out and it went perfectly with my crazy Hot Pink Roller Derby outfit. If you guys haven’t tried it, you definitely should, it’s a crazy leg workout!

Here is the video we shot that day, hair tutorial included!

Now it’s your chance to join in on the fun! Garnier Color Styler Presents “The Funnest Girl In The World”! Every 3 days, Garnier Color Styler will choose a real girl to become the Color Styler spokesmodel for 72 hours (the same amount of time the color lasts), and earn the Title of “The Funnest Girl In The World.” This girl will be featured on the Color Styler website and across social media for the 3 days of her reign. To enter, all you have to do is snap a selfie, tell us why you deserve the title in the caption and then post it to Instagram and tag it with #FunnestGirl for your chance to be Garnier’s next Funnest Girl In The World.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you are all having a fantastic day!

Mirrored Vibes & Summer Must-Haves

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hello everyone,

There is nothing like a relaxing walk at sunset overlooking beautiful lake views and downtown Los Angeles. Sometimes I forget how blessed I am to live in Southern California and to have all this beauty chilling in my backyard.

I like mixing relaxed textures like a soft sweatshirt with a structured skirt. I think it’s saying ” Hey I’m put together, but I didn’t try too hard”. Even though the pieces couldn’t be more different the mirrored print on the skirt complements the mesh cutout on the sweatshirt- all thought out!

Amsterdam:: Striped Knits & Floppy Hat

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hello there,

I thought it was the weirdest thing that trams often run right through the streets between shopping alleys and just generally populated areas. We had to be super careful and fast shooting photos to avoid getting hit by one because they’re very fast and come out of nowhere. Oh Amsterdam!:)

During my stay I got the opportunity to visit the famous Dutch fashion label Supertrash. Fashionchick.com and Supertrash were kind enough to let us explore the store and pick out a full outfit. I love how precisely tailored their pieces are along with the incredible decor inside the store, which featured an open tea and coffee bar.

I’ve never worn a floppy hat before, I always thought that it was a pretty brave piece only certain people can pull off. As soon as I tried on this hat in the store I just knew I had to get it, it made my look complete.

Thank you for reading and have an amazing week ahead!

Leather & Lace

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hey everyone,

Recently I had the opportunity to attend the Little Market and Citizens of Humanity luncheon. I love drawing inspiration from decor and architectural details and I was stunned by the beautiful display of books, artwork and inspirational collages at the Citizens of Humanity showroom.

As most of you may already know I recently died my hair lavender just to add a little color in my life. Now I can fully embrace wearing B&W without feeling boring.

I played with the juxtaposition of structured leather and feminine lace. It created the perfect balance of an edgy city girl that is confident in her style. The scalloped detail in the skirt is a very flattering look for your legs, so if you ladies see anything like this around- snag it!  Also did I mention that I got to meet Lauren Conrad at the event? She was a total sweetheart and complimented my hair (I just about died inside).

Hosting My 1st Event

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle

Hey everyone,

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far. One of my most recent endeavors was hosting a private event for AMIclubwear in Hollywood. It was one of the coolest events I’ve ever attended. They had a shoe bar where you could pick out any shoes you wanted to take home, cake pops and you could get your makeup done right on the spot.

I left home with a bag full of shoes, boots and of course cute Halloween stuff. I’m really excited about this Sailor costume. It’s very classy yet highlights my figure and is really well-made for a costume. Thank you AMIClubwear for solving my dilemma as to what to wear for Halloween. Definitely recommend looking through the selection they have on the site. It’s a lot cheaper than regular costume stores and it saves you the hassle of trying to find something right before the party.

I am also flying out to New York tomorrow morning, so I’m really excited to do some blog posts while I’m there. Meanwhile you can keep up with all my updates on Instagram.

Thank you so much for reading!

Phillip Lim For Target

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle

Hello dear readers,

Today I bring to you something a little different. Although I haven’t had any sleep this past night, I can say that I am the proud owner of two Phillip Lim for Target handbags, three pullovers and a blouse. Victory!
EXPERIENCE

Rewind a couple months back- Oh, the excitement when first I read that Phillip Lim was producing a line for us savvy fashionistas! I marked it down on my calendar and I knew that September 15 was reserved exclusively for Phillip Lim. My next step was to convince someone to come stand with me in line, for which of course Daniel was the perfect candidate. He was thrilled that the line contained some nicely tailored pieces and accessories for men so we were both pretty excited. Now you might think this is a bit excessive, but I didn’t want to take any chances, so we got to the nearest participating store at 4AM to make sure we were the first people in line to snag those coveted bags. I might also add that we were painting all day, so we alsowanted to get out of the apartment and breath some fresh air.

As soon as the doors opened at 8AM they let the crowd storm in groups of 10. Each group had a total of 2 minutes to grab whatever possible. I picked out solely the items that I had originally planned and left room for the other excited shoppers to browse, so they can get dibs on their first picks as well. The shelves cleared out as quickly as in 5 minutes and I couldn’t help but feel bad for the ladies that just kept asking whether I’m sure if I want those bags. I was PRETTY sure:)
The clean silhouettes and pop-art inspired prints are going to fit in just right in my closet. As expected, the quality of the pieces including the handbags (retail at $35 each) aren’t the brightest diamonds in the bunch, but Lim sure did generously share the defining elements which make a piece a Phillip Lim piece, for which I’m very grateful!

If you could choose one designer to create an accessible collection for budget fashionistas, who would it be?

Pieces shown: Handle Crossbody/Yellow, Mini Satchel with Gusset, Boom Print Sweatshirt, Pullover: Navy/Green, Pullover: Animal Print, Sparkle Blouse.

New York: Torn by Ronny Kobo & Twenty Tees Showroom

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hey guys!

While in New York we got invited to drop by the Torn by Ronny Kobo and Twenty Tees showroom to browse through the Fall collections and pick out a few pieces. I felt like a little kid in a candy store. The showroom was filled with silky prints, rich textures, heavy knit sweaters, structured coats and of course vibrant bags and clutches. After looking for what it seemed like an eternity I finally narrowed down my choices to two sweaters, a blazer and a purse. I’m not going to reveal my choices just yet, but stay tuned for outfit posts featuring the pieces very soon!

Even amongst the busiest of days it’s important to find a few moments to recollect your thoughts and get away from the noise, even if it’s just for a quick glimpse. Before hoping back on the subway to change for the fashion shows, we decided to take a little break and just sit down in Central Park and reflect. I brought my little travel journal and documented the day by placing freshly taken polaroids and quotes. It was sought of a magical moment, the calm before the storm that was Fashion Week.

A couple months back my friend Tatyana from Istoria Events and I sat down together in a quiet coffee shop and started brainstorming on this grand whimsical shoot that she had dreamed of for a long time now. You might remember her from my post on the Mintbarry Launch party, she did all the fabulous decor for my event. As we were talking, all these incredible ideas started flowing and we just couldn’t contain our excitement imagining all these visions come to reality. Fast-forward a couple of weeks and here we are at this dreamy location, surrounded by magical flower arrangements, sparkly chandeliers catching daylight and ornate vintage furniture. Most  importantly the shoot got featured on StylemePretty, a dream come true for Tatyana.  Click HERE to see the rest of the photos and read about the shoot vision, it’s breathtaking!

Orlando Trip Instamix

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle

Orlando Instamix

Hey everyone,

Recently Daniel and I got invited to Orlando for an early screening of the Despicable Me 2 movie. Along with that we got to tour the Universal Studios, see the Blue Man Group and stay at this really beautiful hotel called Lowes Portofino. We were greeted with the cutest Despicable me goodies in our room and the whole weekend was just a blast- a much needed break before opening our store. The three biggest highlights of the whole trip where: touring the park with a Universal Studios guide and skipping ahead of all the lines, trying an authentic Krusty Burger for the first time and of course seeing the Despicable ME 2 movie. The movie come out July 3rd so if you haven’t seen the first one yet, definitely watch it and be prepared for cuteness overload! It’s such a fun heart-warming story!
Let me know if you like these types of posts and if you would like a weekly update post of my Instagrams- I’d be happy to do that!:)
