Coffee Break With Racquel

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hello everyone,

Today’s blog post is a little collaboraiton we shot with my dear friend Racquel who I met at EDCLV last summer. Between the craziness of no phone reception and massive crowds I somehow managed to spot her backstage as we’ve been chatting to meetup on twitter for a while. I love that feeling when you meet a new friend and you just know that you’re going to hit it off. We thought why not to get together and shoot something for the blog while sipping on delicious coffee and exploring the streets of Hollywood.

I’ve been LIVING in this leather jacket and wanted to keep my outfit simple by wearing a long distressed minimal tee and add a pop of color with a cross-body bag.

I hope you enjoyed this little post and beautiful photography by Jonathan Yacoub. Make sure to also drop by Racquel’s blog to read Part 2 of our adventure and leave her some love:) Let me know if you’d like to see more collaborations like these in the future!

Building Wells For the People

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle, Travel

Hey guys!

Today’s blog post is a little different. Just wanted to check in and say a quick hello and also let you know about this cool venture that I’m going to be taking part in this month. I often wondered what could be something cool that I can do to utilize my voice online that can make a real difference. Me along a few of my best friends are taking a trip to Haiti to film a video documenting the difference in villages that have clean water and those that do not. Along with that I am personally contributing to building a well in Haiti and I thought would be awesome to create a campaign for people to get involved as well! How cool if we can build a well and call it the Unicorn well!:) It’s crazy to me that up to this day we still live in a world with 748 million of people with no access to clean water which is a dirrect cause for disease, famine, education crisis to name a few.

You can watch my video and also find out how to get involved directly on my Generosity page.

P.S. I am not affiliated or sponsored in any way by the organization, this is something I’ve always wanted to do:)

Living Downtown

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hey guys,

Today I wanted to give you a little glimpse into my life. As some of you know, a few months back I made the decission to move downtown Los Angeles and in all honesty it has been quite the experience. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know my obession with big cities and old architecture so moving here was a no brainer. To most people in LA downtown is like the plague they want to avoid at all costs, but to me it’s still an undiscovered gem that’s going to be huge in a few years. Since I moved here I see new restaurants and unique street style shops opening up every week. Best part about living here, is having a ton of my friends live in the same building as me. Sophia came over one day and she loved it so much that she moved into my complex a week later. It’s just such an amazing feeling waking up and taking the elevator to your best friend’s place wearing pajamas. On our free time we love exploring downtown and finding new restaurants or just taking photos of the architecture. If you’re in LA or you come visit you HAVE to check out the Ace Hotel, Standard and Perch- 3 of my favorite spots with stunning rooftop views.
This outfit is a bit out of my comfort zone as you won’t see me rocking a maxi dress very often. I love pairing it with some thick heel booties, a spanish hat which I thrifted and of course a strappy crop top to avoid any weird bra straps. Comment below where you are reading from and what do you love about the city/neighborhood you live in?

Hello everyone,

A few weeks back I had the oportunity to work on probably one of the coolest project I’ve a chance to do since I started blogging. Garnier invited me to try Roller Derby with a professional team in Brooklyn and try out their new Color Styler Washout Color. You guys know how I feel about my unicorn hair, so I was more than excited to try out something that woudln’t be damaging to my hair and still achieve vibrant results. I loved how the hair turned out and it went perfectly with my crazy Hot Pink Roller Derby outfit. If you guys haven’t tried it, you definitely should, it’s a crazy leg workout!

Mirrored Vibes & Summer Must-Haves

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hello everyone,

There is nothing like a relaxing walk at sunset overlooking beautiful lake views and downtown Los Angeles. Sometimes I forget how blessed I am to live in Southern California and to have all this beauty chilling in my backyard.

I like mixing relaxed textures like a soft sweatshirt with a structured skirt. I think it’s saying ” Hey I’m put together, but I didn’t try too hard”. Even though the pieces couldn’t be more different the mirrored print on the skirt complements the mesh cutout on the sweatshirt- all thought out!

I thought since we’re well into summer I’d share a fun summer must haves list that I found on eBay’s Designer Collective. Hope it inspires you to hunt for your to go pieces for the beautiful sunny days and don’t forget to comment letting me know your favorites!

Amsterdam:: Striped Knits & Floppy Hat

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hello there,

I thought it was the weirdest thing that trams often run right through the streets between shopping alleys and just generally populated areas. We had to be super careful and fast shooting photos to avoid getting hit by one because they’re very fast and come out of nowhere. Oh Amsterdam!:)

During my stay I got the opportunity to visit the famous Dutch fashion label Supertrash. and Supertrash were kind enough to let us explore the store and pick out a full outfit. I love how precisely tailored their pieces are along with the incredible decor inside the store, which featured an open tea and coffee bar.

I’ve never worn a floppy hat before, I always thought that it was a pretty brave piece only certain people can pull off. As soon as I tried on this hat in the store I just knew I had to get it, it made my look complete.

Thank you for reading and have an amazing week ahead!

Leather & Lace

Written by , Posted in Fashion, Lifestyle

Hey everyone,

Recently I had the opportunity to attend the Little Market and Citizens of Humanity luncheon. I love drawing inspiration from decor and architectural details and I was stunned by the beautiful display of books, artwork and inspirational collages at the Citizens of Humanity showroom.

As most of you may already know I recently died my hair lavender just to add a little color in my life. Now I can fully embrace wearing B&W without feeling boring.

I played with the juxtaposition of structured leather and feminine lace. It created the perfect balance of an edgy city girl that is confident in her style. The scalloped detail in the skirt is a very flattering look for your legs, so if you ladies see anything like this around- snag it!  Also did I mention that I got to meet Lauren Conrad at the event? She was a total sweetheart and complimented my hair (I just about died inside).

Hosting My 1st Event

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle

Hey everyone,

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far. One of my most recent endeavors was hosting a private event for AMIclubwear in Hollywood. It was one of the coolest events I’ve ever attended. They had a shoe bar where you could pick out any shoes you wanted to take home, cake pops and you could get your makeup done right on the spot.

I left home with a bag full of shoes, boots and of course cute Halloween stuff. I’m really excited about this Sailor costume. It’s very classy yet highlights my figure and is really well-made for a costume. Thank you AMIClubwear for solving my dilemma as to what to wear for Halloween. Definitely recommend looking through the selection they have on the site. It’s a lot cheaper than regular costume stores and it saves you the hassle of trying to find something right before the party.

I am also flying out to New York tomorrow morning, so I’m really excited to do some blog posts while I’m there. Meanwhile you can keep up with all my updates on Instagram.

Thank you so much for reading!

Phillip Lim For Target

Written by , Posted in Lifestyle

Hello dear readers,

Today I bring to you something a little different. Although I haven’t had any sleep this past night, I can say that I am the proud owner of two Phillip Lim for Target handbags, three pullovers and a blouse. Victory!

Rewind a couple months back- Oh, the excitement when first I read that Phillip Lim was producing a line for us savvy fashionistas! I marked it down on my calendar and I knew that September 15 was reserved exclusively for Phillip Lim. My next step was to convince someone to come stand with me in line, for which of course Daniel was the perfect candidate. He was thrilled that the line contained some nicely tailored pieces and accessories for men so we were both pretty excited. Now you might think this is a bit excessive, but I didn’t want to take any chances, so we got to the nearest participating store at 4AM to make sure we were the first people in line to snag those coveted bags. I might also add that we were painting all day, so we alsowanted to get out of the apartment and breath some fresh air.

As soon as the doors opened at 8AM they let the crowd storm in groups of 10. Each group had a total of 2 minutes to grab whatever possible. I picked out solely the items that I had originally planned and left room for the other excited shoppers to browse, so they can get dibs on their first picks as well. The shelves cleared out as quickly as in 5 minutes and I couldn’t help but feel bad for the ladies that just kept asking whether I’m sure if I want those bags. I was PRETTY sure:)
The clean silhouettes and pop-art inspired prints are going to fit in just right in my closet. As expected, the quality of the pieces including the handbags (retail at $35 each) aren’t the brightest diamonds in the bunch, but Lim sure did generously share the defining elements which make a piece a Phillip Lim piece, for which I’m very grateful!

If you could choose one designer to create an accessible collection for budget fashionistas, who would it be?

Pieces shown: Handle Crossbody/Yellow, Mini Satchel with Gusset, Boom Print Sweatshirt, Pullover: Navy/Green, Pullover: Animal Print, Sparkle Blouse.
